Bhorgiri Wild Vegetable Festival 2022
Bhorgiri Wild Vegetable Festival was held on 11th September 2022 in Bhorgiri village, Bhimashankar. The initiative was strengthened by the participation of about 600 tribal people. Organized by Bhorgiri Gram Panchayat and Women SHGs, Kalpavriksh (Pune), S.M.Supe Memorial Foundation (Pune), Rajgurunagar Agriculture Department and Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA, Pune), the festival was a big success with participation by about 274 women from All Women SHG members of Bhorgiri, Bhivegaon, Yelavali, Bhomale (U0, Bhomale (L), Kharpud, Mhasewadi.

Kalpavriksh, the South Asia regional coordinator for ICCA Consortium, in collaboration with
Seva Mandir, and Metastring Foundation, have developed a web portal, with the objectives of bringing recognition and visibility to CCAs, providing a space for learning exchanges between communities and creating an analysis tool to impact policy change.

Press Release: Urgent Need to Support Goba System of Ladakh
Five civil society organisations are encouraging the UT Administration and the Hill Council, along with Ladakhi society, to recognise and strengthen the goba (or nambardar) system.
In a detailed study led by Kalpavriksh (a Pune-based organisation active in Ladakh), in coordination with Ladakhi organisations Snow Leopard Conservancy – India Trust (SLC-IT), Nature Conservation Foundation (NCF), Ladakh Media and Arts Organisation (LAMO), and Local Futures, it was found that the goba system is still highly relevant for Ladakhi society. Across the Leh district, people continue to have faith in this system, and insist that it should continue along with the Panchayat system.
