The CCA web portal was developed with the following objectives:
- To increase the recognition of CCAs and highlight their importance vis-à-vis community well-being, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration and climate change
- To create a repository of local knowledge that enables learning and exchange of information
- To serve as an evidence-base for community-led approaches to conservation and impact the global policy sphere
