  • Eco Mela

Kalpavriksh organized an Eco-Mela as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations. It was held at Empress Gardens in Pune on 18th and 19th Dec 2004. The aim of the event was to create awareness about biodiversity especially Pune’s biodiversity. The mela was organized collaboratively with Abasaheb Garware College ( Microbiology Dept), Academy of Development Sciences, Kasele,  ANTHRA, BSI,  BVIEER, CEE, Ecological Society,  INORA and  ZSI.

The mela reached out to many and was a huge success. There were many special events for schools to participate in. About 15 schools took part in these. Tree walks, exhibitions on biodiversity and audio-visual programmes were some of the highlights besides the various stalls that were put up by the participants.
